Download the Feminai app and complete the quick setup process.
Prepare your space and body
Choose a private, comfortable space and prepare for your scan by following the setup instructions.
Practice with the demo patch
Use the demo patch and follow the app's guided placement instructions to familiarize yourself before starting your scan.
FAQs
How long will the full process take?
The full experience takes about 20–25 minutes from start to finish. The scans take about 5 minutes each, with an additional 5–10 minutes for setup and positioning.
Is any radiation involved?
No. Feminai is completely radiation-free.
Is there a best time of day to do the scan?
There is no specific time of day required. Choose a time when you can be comfortable and uninterrupted.
What do I do after I finish the scan?
Once your scan is complete, follow the final steps in the app, review the return instructions included with your kit, and complete the short feedback survey.
Are there two separate patches?
No. You will use the same patch for both sides during the session.
Does the patch fit all breast sizes?
The current Feminai patch fits breasts sized A-E.
Which side do I begin with?
Start with the right side, and then continue to the left.
What is the blue cover liner for?
​The blue cover liner is used between sides to help re-cover and reposition the patch for the second scan.
Can someone help me apply the patch?
Yes. If it feels easier and more comfortable, someone can help you with placement.
What if I place it incorrectly?
If adjustment is needed, the app will guide you and you can reposition the patch as needed.
How do I know the patch is placed correctly?
The app will prompt you to take a photo and will help verify placement before you continue.
What jewelry should I remove?
Please remove jewelry from the upper body area before starting, such as necklaces, bracelets and earrings. Keeping the scan area clear can help the process go more smoothly.
Do I need internet during the process?
Yes. A stable internet connection helps the app function properly and sync the device during the session.
How do I take a correct photo to ensure proper placement?

Use the front-facing camera

Hold your phone horizontally

Ensure the on-screen arrows are facing towards each other for a full view

Ensure your face is not visible

Make sure the entire patch and device are in frame
Once captured: -
Tap “Use Photo” if everything looks correct

Tap “Retake” if anything is cut off

Wait for the image to fully upload, then tap “Confirm & Save”

Can Feminai replace a mammogram or MRI?
No. Feminai is not a replacement for mammograms, MRIs, or professional medical evaluations. It is designed to track changes over time, support awareness, and encourage proactive breast health monitoring.
What information is collected?
Feminai collects thermal and electrical impedance (EIS) signals from breast tissue during the scan.
What should I do if I feel discomfort?
If you feel discomfort, stop using the product and contact support for help.
Privacy & Safety
Your privacy and safety are our top priorities.
Feminai technology is being evaluated as part of a research study and is not intended to replace mammograms, MRIs, or professional medical care.
As this is a research study, individual scan results will not be provided. If you have any health concerns, please consult your healthcare provider.
